'Bridget' 2023 Sparkling Pink

Raspberries, cream, white pepper.

Bridget is super pale and soft fruit on the nose - just like our favourite pig Bridget’s nose. The wine is complex, yet approachable with a lovely, dry mouthfeel and wonderful tiny bubbles. 

How it was made

Whole bunched pressed Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, fermented in stainless steel. This wine underwent two years on fine lees to increase complexity and mouthfeel before a secondary ferment in pressurised stainless steel tanks. 

We added 6g/L dosage (sugar) at bottling stage which is very low by comparison to most sparkling wines. 

Made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (a Renegade twist) grown in Essex, UK.

Our collaboration with Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary

When describing the desired colour of our new wine, we said "You know, pale pink, like a pig's nose." Not long after one pink nose became the focus of the winemaking process and like all those featured on our bottles, we wanted to find out more about the pig behind the nose (and eyes). 

Bridget is from the Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary, a phenomenal project that really shows how a few people can do incredible work for hundreds of animals that happen to be a few miles away from where the grapes were grown in Crouch Valley in Essex.  

The Sanctuary’s carers Martin and Fiona had one important question for us - "Will the Bridget wine be vegan?". Of course the answer was yes as all Renegade wines are made without the use of any animal products.
